FMD, Incorporated was formed in 1998 to add another dimension - residential and commercial land development -- to The Ellington Companies.  FMD owns and operates the 14,250 square foot building that houses Ellington Contractors, Inc. main office plus two other buildings in the South Forest Industrial Park in Wake Forest.  These include a 11,250 square foot building at 2801 Connector Drive built in 2005 and a 28,200 square foot building at 5100 Unicon Drive built in 2001.  This building is subdivided into ten office/warehouse condominiums for long-term lease.

FMD began its two most recent projects in 2007.  Construction was completed on the Neuse Industrial Park on One World Way in Wake Forest in March of 2008.  This office park is comprised of 13 lots ranging in size from approximately one acre to more than two and a half acres.  Our buyers are opening businesses that include maintenance facilities, automotive sales & repair and office space.

FMD also completed the purchase and development of Phase 2 of the 40 lot Colonnade subdivision in Benson, NC in October of 2007.  Phase 2 consists of 20 single-family lots that offer maintenance-free living.

FMD's business plan for the future is to continue to search for residential, commercial, industrial, and retail development properties.  This will include raw land purchases as well as the exploration of joint-venture opportunities with builders, developers and private land owners.  By teaming with Ellington Contractors, Inc., FMD is in a unique position to participate in development opportunities that are not feasible for other developers due to construction costs.
